Melissa Walsh is a mother of four and grandmother to two granddaughters who she cherishes enormously.

She has worked as a journalist for the past 25 years and was one of the cast members of this year’s Married at First Sight
the first grandmother they had on the Channel Nine show.

In fact, her second granddaughter was born while the show
was being filmed last year and she had to make a quick exit from one of the dinner parties.

Melissa is extremely passionate about the rights and welfare
of children after having her first child at 19 which opened
her eyes to the importance and value of our precious kids.

Melissa lives on the Mornington Peninsula and has worked
in print media for her career. She now writes a local magazine Peninsula Essence, promoting the Mornington Peninsula
its events and people.

She spends her spare time with her children and grandchildren socializing with friends and traveling as much as she can
and follows her father’s philosophy
“Carpe Diem” (seize the day).

Melissa believes we should live life to the fullest
and above all, be kind.

Hearing about Shaun Miller’s story and the legacy his father Cameron is carrying down touched Melissa in such a way
she wanted to help through her media contacts
writing and speech making.

Melissa is very passionate about helping draw attention
to children with Congenital Heart Disease and finding a cure
as well as honoring those who have lost their battle
with the disease and children who are struggling
with it every day.
